Becoming a Love and Logic Parent – Thursdays, April 11-May 9, 6:30-8:30p, at Heritage Elementary in Stockbridge.  Instructor: Mary Pashkevich.  Cost is $15 and includes childcare.  Register by calling 517-851-8222, ext. 2 or check www.panthernet.net/commed for the registration form.

If you aren’t sure of the spelling words for the week or you can’t find your list, you can always check the Spelling Tab at the top.  I update this page every Monday after school with the week’s spelling list.  You can also find the spelling list on www.spellingcity.com.  At this website, your child can practice their test and play games with their words!  Spelling City also has an app for the Ipad.

I have created a new page to add the pictures from class.  I will try to keep keep adding pictures as we go so check back once and a while!

As you know we are going to see a performance of The Velveteen Rabbit the week we return from Winter Break.  Please try to have permission slips and ticket cost turned in by Friday, Dec. 14th.  Thank you!

 As you know the plan is to begin Home Reading next week…but I need some help.  Every morning the students will bring their Home Reading Folder back to school.  I’m looking for helpers who can check-in folders, listen to students read their book and help students pick a new leveled book to take home the following day.  I will also need your help to “test” students who have been practicing their word wall words and are ready for a test.  I usually prefer to do this activity first thing in the morning, but I can be very flexible.  It may take a little bit longer in the beginning, but after a routine is built I don’t think it should take over an hour.  If enough people are interested I may even be able to put two helpers on one day and that would make it take only about a half-hour.  (I have a helper lined up for Tuesday and Thursday, so I really need people for Wednesday and Friday.  Monday we don’t need one because we don’t take the folders home over the weekend.)  This position is weekly.

I’m also looking for someone who could help with Friday Folders on Friday afternoons.  It might take about 20-30 minutes.  It just requires sorting some papers into cubbies, putting notes for everyone into folders and putting student work from cubbie into their folder.  This position is weekly.

The last job I’m looking for right now is one or two people who could make copies on Thursdays and prep some of the materials that we would need for the next week.  I will teach you how to use the copy machine.  I would like to have a weekly volunteer, but if you could do at least every other week, that would be helpful.
