Dansville Bands and Choir

2012 HS Band Camp will be held at DHS August 6-10, from 8 AM to 12 Noon each day.  All students in grades 9-12 next fall should plan to attend these important rehearsals.  This week is where we will learn the show for the coming season.  The 2012 show will feature “party music” including Dynamite, Party Rock Anthem and Dont’ Stop Believing.  Incomming freshmen students will need to purchase lyres, flip folders, band polos, and marching band shoes.  Order forms for these items will be send home in class.

The HS Band and Choir concert will be Thursday, May 17th at 7:15 PM in the HS Gym.  Students should arrive by 6:30 PM to warm up.  Students wishing to earn extra credit should arrive at 6:00 PM to help with set up.

Due to an athletic conflict the MS Band Concert has been moved to Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:15 PM in the Middle School Gym.  Students should plan to arrive by 6:45 PM.  Students may earn extra credit by arriving at 6:15 PM to help with set up.

As summer approaches it is time to start thinking about summer music plans.  It is very important that students continue to play their instruments over the summer.  Students that put the instrument away for three months generally find that it takes weeks just to recover lost skills and muscle development.  A great way to keep playing over the summer is to purchase some “fun” music books.  Marshall Music has a collection of these for sale at their Lansing store.  You can shop for them at the store, or you can order them through the band office here at Dansville.  If you are interested in ordering any of the following, please fill out the below form and turn it in to Mr. Ross.  The music books (and prices) that are available:
