Block scheduling is coming out on top with students and teachers. Out of the students surveyed 66% of students seemed to be content with the new block schedule we use. Along with a majority of teachers. When asked what the students liked most about this scheduling the most common response was that they had more time to learn material in class. Which went along with the teachers saying they could go deeper into subjects with better discussions. Another benefit that the teacher's and students seem to like is the teacher student one on one time. If there was one thing that the students didn't like was the length of class time. This explains why the teachers don't like the time wasted by students in class. Another major thing that the teachers didn't like was that some of them rushed to get the material through to the students. They feel as if they are stuck between more quantity or better quality.
When asked what the teachers would like changed, most of them didn't comment. Among the few that did comment, they suggested a homeroom class and a tougher schedule for seniors. Many of the student suggested a longer lunch hour and more time between classes. More of the comments included and eight class block schedule and more class choices.
From the survey handed out, the most beneficial attributes students and teachers saw eye to eye on was that the classes were able to get more in depth in the longer class periods, the teacher-student one on one time, and the students are learning the material better. What students and teachers didn't like include students losing their concentration, less breaks and covered material and a lot of work to make up when absent. So for the most part the students and teachers seem to be satisfied with the new class schedules.
