What the Reading Center Does
- Provides support for students in grades 1-5 who need help
in learning to read or improving their reading/writing skills.
- Provides instruction for K-grade 4 classrooms on:

Early phonics
-
Reading strategies
-
Comprehension
-
Test taking
- Offers support, advice, and materials for teachers in the
area of reading.
- Supplies parents and teachers with books and materials to
use at home.
- Publishes a newsletter with information and advice about
reading, books, and computer programs.
- Provides reading tests for all students, grades 1-5, and
evaluates those tests.
- Evaluates all kindergartners as to their readiness for
first grade.
- Holds occasional meetings for parents so that they may
understand the reading process and learn ways to help their children.
