Darlene M. Cook
As an elementary student, I realized the importance of an education. I had a favorite teacher who encouraged me to a college education, even though no one else in my family had acquired one.
I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of children in a multitude of grades. However, I found my home in teaching kindergarten. I have enjoyed the challenge of teaching children who come from a variety of backgrounds with many different needs.
I believe children need to be nurtured, encouraged, and challenged to learn everything they can each year. As kindergarten children come with a security from home, where love and respect abound, it is exciting to see just how many skills they are able to master. I encourage each child to do their best learning academic material as well as interacting with other children socially.
It is my goal to guide children through the kindergarten curriculum with excitement and a desire to learn as much as possible. With assistance of parents at home as well as helping in the classroom, together we can make a huge difference in the lives of these children.
