As we have been working with the architects and construction manager over the past several months to establish estimated construction timelines, it became clear that the school could help the planning process quite a bit by finalizing our school calendar for the next two years. Our staff has worked together to create both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school calendars, which comply with the law, expedite the construction process and best minimize the impact of construction on learning. We know the calendar for next year is much different than normal and we ask in advance for your understanding and flexibility. It is because of the uniqueness of these next two years that we felt it was so important to finalize the calendars early and get them into your hands as soon as possible for your planning purposes. You will find the school calendars for the next two years attached here.
A few key dates to note include:
- The first day of classes of the 2017-2018 school year will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
- The last day of school of the 2017-2018 school year will be Friday, May 25, 2018.
- The first day of classes of the 2018-2019 school year will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
- The last day of school of the 2018-2019 school year will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we have weighed many options and done our best to make the right decisions for everyone in determining how to safely accommodate the construction schedule as well as the needs of the Dansville Aggie Family.
We cannot fully describe how exciting the bond construction projects are when we think about the impact all of this will have on our students, as we plan for the opening of school in the Fall of 2018. Thank you again for making the commitment to invest in our students by investing in our school. We realize this work will impact our entire school campus and our community, so again, we very much appreciate your patience and flexibility as we do our best to make this experience as smooth as possible for everyone.
Please don’t hesitate to call, email or stop by if you have any questions throughout this entire process.
