4th Quarter Has Begun!
In both 6th and 7th grade science, there is one unit remaining. They are both fairly long units and will take until very close to the end of the year. This is a reminder that your student’s grade is based on work habits until the unit test toward the end of the year is taken. Once the unit test has been taken, it will account for 90% of your student’s final grade and work habits will account for the other 10%. Make sure you check back to the website for more information as the school year finishes! 6th grade science is finishing with the energy unit and 7th grade science is finishing with the weather and atmosphere unit. If you have any questions, feel free to email me anytime!
End of the Third Marking Period
The end of the third marking period is approaching quickly. It is officially next Thursday, March 29th. Both 6th and 7th grade science classes will be taking their unit tests (Ecology for Science 6 and Genetics for Science 7) on Wednesday, March 28th. Make sure your student(s) are studying for their test on that day. For more information regarding the Science 6 Ecology Unit and test, go HERE. For more information regarding the Science 7 Our Genes, Our Selves Unit and test, go HERE. Retakes for both of these tests will be after Spring Break, but their grades for the 3rd marking period can still be changed at that point. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Beck and/or Ms. Havener.
7th Grade Science Test – Micro-Life Unit
7th graders will be taking the Micro-Life Unit Test on Monday, March 5th. Make sure your student takes necessary time to study their quizzes and notes they have taken throughout the unit to prepare. There will be a review over the material on Friday, March 2nd. *Reminder, summative assessments (unit tests) account for 90% of your student’s grade for the marking period. Work habits account for 10%. Please stress the importance of studying and preparing for their tests.

We’ve been practicing these for a while and the students should be reviewing/studying them to prepare for the test that will account for 90% of their grade for the third marking period. A good thing to review/study is the quiz they took half way through the unit.
7th Grade Test on Thursday
